In the Redwood tool we can triggered out jobs as per the business/client requirements. The main thing of this tools is very user-friendly because there is no coding and scripting need to be written. We can easily perform all the things which is predefined in this tool.
There is a pre-defined tab like alerting, application, environment, promotion and configuration.
In Redwood workload automation there is 5 most used action which is commonly used New, Edit, Delete, Export and refresh.
We can easily connect Redwood Workload Automation to SAP ABAP, Java, Oracle Application and People soft.
  • Exporting of jobs from one environment to other environment.
  • Easily creation, deletion and monitoring of the jobs.
  • We can easily schedule the alerting system which notified us for any failure of jobs.
  • Less coding and scripting
  • A dashboard for checking the overall health of the tool
  • Direct excel export option is unavailable to transport the jobs.
  • Mobile notification is also helpful for those user who worked in 24*7 shift. if this option will available it is very useful for those user who needs to check system again and again
For scheduling the jobs and monitoring purpose there is no comparison in the market of Redwood tools.
Because everything is almost present in this tools at the very suitable price. According to me the most like scenario is the transportation of jobs as well as easy creation. I hope redwood will provide more options in future for users.

  • In Redwood we can easily findout the reports as per the client requirement either it is related to running job or failured jobs
  • As compared to earlier now we are investing less time or efforts for scheduling and monitoring the jobs
  • Overall they are delivering the standard accuracy for the different different applications and i think it is most perfect thing in this tool.
In Automic we need to performed many function manually and in the redwood we can easily performed according to requirement. As well as in th automic we need to write scripte or coding for scheduling the jobs and in the redwood we can easily create the new jobs without coding.

It's a great scheduling tool that is easy to understand and operate. The structural diagram of the complex workflows really looks clear when we see the overall picture in Redwood . We can control a complex workflow with simple events, which makes life easier. It's excellent automation I would recommend it for any business. Also, hats off to the Redwood team, and whenever there is an issue, the Redwood team tries their best to resolve the issue for their customers.
  • Jobs can be scheduled as per requirements
  • There won't be any memory outage issue.
  • The tool is supported by all the browsers
  • There are few small things which support team needs to look into many a times when I download report it gets downloaded in .CAR file so its difficult to convert to excel file.
  • Can add additional default time windows, and submit frames which helps in scheduling the batch job as per customer/business requirements.
It is easy to navigate and simple to work. Redwood is more fully automated than any other tool in Batch scheduling. The newly created dashboard is beneficial when any jobs are skipped from schedules. Redwood GUI and support is awesome. Installing and configuring Redwood agents are pretty easy and scheduling jobs on Redwood helps in triggering the batches as per business requirements

Redwood Workload Automation includes documentation for every single thing, including job definitions, reports, monitoring dashboards, etc. Redwood Workload Automation has less coding and scripting, and it performs and delivers business more quickly. can retrieve supporting files for every job that was killed or failed, finished, or scheduled. It aids in identifying the project's primary cause and asking the Redwood Workload Automation support team for help. To meet business demands, the content file can be uploaded to produce new documents. The majority of third-party systems can be connected with Redwood Workload Automation. It connects to the PI system, the bods system, the marc spectrum system, etc. in our use case. Redwood Workload Automation becomes the primary location for the workflow and data flow from several platforms. Using SAP Batch job definitions, Redwood Workload Automation jobs are imported straight from the SAP system. Redwood Workload Automation servers can be connected to Oracle DB, PeopleSoft, and other databases in addition to SAP ECC. The best functionalities are found in Redwood Workload Automation servers, which include chains, events, time windows, submit frames, and other features that reduce daily effort.
  • Allows us to add dependencies that otherwise wouldn't be there and tie jobs from different systems together.
  • used to schedule Batch jobs on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis to keep the business running smoothly.
  • For our clients in the manufacturing industry and their team, we provide general business support. This training was also utilised to develop expertise for moving.
  • A very good memory of the entire application.
  • The chain editor need revision. For instance, we won't be able to flexibly join the jobs under the dependent setup.
  • The largest complaint has been the lack of helpful documentation on how to use the product in specific situations, but I know Redwood Workload Automation is attempting to improve this.
  • A large portion of the documentation is merely very high level and devoid of useful examples to get you started independently.
  • There is no direct Excel export option from the job lists (like in service now)
Completely automated tool with minimal need for operator involvement. It requires very little supervision to operate and is very simple to use. We can depend on the software to ensure that our key business operations function smoothly and practically without any unexpected mistakes. We use business process automation, and by automating the fundamental Batch operations, we have benefited greatly. We rely on the software to carry out the activities. You can manage many systems to tackle complicated problems with little effort. One aspect that can be enhanced is the fact that the session expires rather frequently and we must re-login to the environment systems through the dashboard. Other than that, I like utilizing this tool. executing OS instructions or scripts generating reports using various selection criteria Notifications of job failure and delays

  • Simple to install Redwood Workload Automation agent servers on every server side and trigger the necessary jobs in keeping with business needs.
  • Allows for the interdependent scheduling of groups of Windows scripts and shell scripts.
  • Many problems have been fixed, such as the ability to gather data on the number of activities that are executed each day, receive email notifications when a job expires, and connect system agents to monitors.
  • capable of adhering to SLAs for complicated order flows
Specifically compared to regular SAP SM37, none are capable of delivering the same broad set of features to drive extremely complicated setups inside this bulk flow. The benefit is that we can connect to databases and obtain information; in the past, we had to create numerous jobs and files to carry out this process.

Redwood helps us to add objects to our custom navigation bar for immediate access. It makes to schedule complicated jobs ,easy to develop redwood script a. Common feature is custom calendars that allow us to run jobs only when you need them . It doesn't have to be daily, weekly or monthly only. Redwood manages the workload of ERP platforms oracle etc.
  • multiple job scheduling options
  • set limit for background jobs to run in parallel
  • scheduling jobs on redwood is easy and triggers jobs as per business requirements.
  • Can retrieve support files for each killed/error, completed, and schedule job
  • holds the overall control of work performance.
Redwood software provides different functionalities like Keyword search, fuzzy search etc. as well as the symbols for the event raised, event cleared, warning, and message .sometimes we face issues in integration and deployment. I couldn't send alert mail to few recipient's and the job log has size limit. But we can't write a logic to run a job with past dates.

RunMyJobs is being used across all of IT to provide a centralized point of processing, monitoring, and alerting for our business processes running on Windows Servers, AS/400 (iSeries), and Linux platforms, as well as direct JDBC connections to databases. Before implementation, processes were scheduled in various independent areas, such as windows task scheduler, with no alerting and no visibility for an operations team to monitor. In addition, before RMJ, cross-platform processes just had to be scheduled in good faith that prerequisites finished on time and successfully. RMJ solves that issue as well.
  • Upgrades are fast and can be done in a "lights-out" manner
  • The ability to organize functions into applications is very helpful
  • Events such as a file watcher to kick off a process when a file is detected are done very well
  • The documentation is lacking severely, many times even leading to a suggestion of paying for professional services to figure out processes. Also not updating documentation when a new release makes the old documentation obsolete.
  • AS400/iSeries has been a constant battle since inception, once an update fixes one thing, another seems to break within the AS400/iSeries space, and sometimes the fixes don't actually fix the issue. Over time now this has gotten much beter.
  • Allowing an issue to go back and forth within a ticket countless times (sometimes over 40 responses) without just getting everyone together on a meeting. Update - this has gotten much better with time.
  • Communication needs a lot of improvement. I have had to reach out to support just to get release notes when a new release is made available.
  • The ability to get accurate counts of historical process runs is limited currently to 35 days and since you are billed for each process run in all environments, not just Production, this limits accountability in historical billing inquiries.
Since we are not an SAP shop, which I know the RunMyJobs company has, it seems like it's hit and miss, where I think maybe an SAP shop might have less issues. AS400/iSeries is touch and go. We have a lot of SSIS package runs and some complicated chains, file watchers that kick off events, and even are able to kick off scheduled jobs in ServiceNow.

  • An issue occurred when we ran out of "credits" much sooner than anticipated. Further investigation showed a process in a TEST environment that was scheduled to run every 15 minutes was accidentally submitted on a schedule twice (so 2 processes running every 15 minutes). At that time we didn't even have the ability to run a report to find the rogue process, the vendor had to run it for us. That lack of ability for the customer was one thing, but to be dinged for non-production is also a point of contention.
  • Positively for the processes that report correctly, it has been a big benefit for our IT Operations team to have the centralized monitoring of our critical processes.
  • The ability to have a centralized system for our operations team to monitor and receive alerts has been very beneficial.
I was not part of the decision making on choosing RunMyJobs, but my understanding on what made RMJ stand out was the fact that it is in the cloud, with no infrastructure support needed on our side, as well as a promise that you could schedule and monitor jobs within ServiceNow. We later found out the ServiceNow promise was not correct and still don't have a direct method as of this writing.

It helps to have a broad understanding of IT functions for how we use runmyjobs, for instance, I know how to reboot a windows server via command line (although google will tell you as well), then to call an SSIS package on a SQL server, run a batch file, etc... With just that broad knowledge it makes it easier to understand the processes you have to support in the product. From there it is just repetition in the various aspects, such as the calendar functions, alerting, events, etc...

  • Alerting
  • Centralization
  • Create ServiceNow incidents for the owning teams when a process fails.
  • Schedule reboots for troublesome servers.
  • Execute ServiceNow scheduled jobs via RMJ.
  • Hopefully SFTP.
Being in the cloud is a big help, with less hardware to maintain, the patches and updates are fast and easily done, we have built a good working relationship with Redwood.

Being a redwood customer certainly helped, as well as the price for an enterprise scheduler in the cloud.
I think it would have been nice to have had some time to work through the tool, but I was trained while we were trying to implement, so it would be nice to have more time to get an overall understanding of the product before being live, but it all worked out.

It seems many pressing issues have to be escalated to their dev team, which I believe is mostly overseas. The response time isn't always the greatest. I go back to the documentation as well, if that was better there would be less need of support from myself. There are also times when they figure out the resolution, it has to be included with a fix in which you have to wait for the next release, however long that may be. Update - the support response time and quality of answers has greatly increased in the past 6 months or more.
I'm unaware of the premium support.
No
I think there is a lot of functionality in this product, and even more that my company could probably benefit from, but not easy to decipher without better documentation or other avenues of exposure. Aside from some bugs here and there, we have been able to integrate SQL processes, SSIS packages, file events, do SOAP calls into ServiceNow (although we don't have true verification if the job completes successfully), create alert emails that email ServiceNow to create incidents for process failures, and many more things, all without actually scheduling our ERP system processes (ran on AS400) in RunMyJobs.
  • File Watcher events
  • Alerts for processes in certain states (error state mostly)
  • Process chains that involve multiple steps
  • The promotion of multiple objects from one environment to another can be a little cumbersome one at a time.
  • Acknowledging multiple operator messages, if not from the same process can be a bit cumbersome.
